FREEZE concrete sculpture – SIT Furniture Design Award

The Cypriot designer and artist Christodoulos Karpasitis has received international recognition at the prestigious SIT Furniture Design Awards, one of the world’s leading institutions celebrating excellence in furniture and interior design. This distinction acknowledges his creative vision and his contribution to contemporary furniture design.

Based in Switzerland, the SIT Furniture Design Awards have established themselves as a global platform dedicated to recognizing and promoting excellence in furniture and interior design. The most recent edition attracted more than 400 designers, architects, and creative studios from 44 countries, featuring entries from internationally acclaimed names such as Foster + Partners, Zaha Hadid Architects, Karim Rashid, and Studio MK27, highlighting the awards’ global prestige and exceptionally high standards.

Entries are evaluated by an international jury comprising renowned architects, designers, academics, university professors, and industry experts. Projects are judged on criteria including innovation, aesthetics, functionality, and overall design excellence.

Christodoulos Karpasitis’ award-winning work, FREEZE CONCRETE SCULPTURE, stood out for its originality and innovation. Through his distinctive artistic vision, he transformed an ordinary everyday functional object into a work of art. Using his own pioneering construction technique, he creates pieces with a strong artistic identity, timeless aesthetics, and exceptional craftsmanship.

This international recognition represents a significant achievement not only for the artist himself but also for contemporary Cypriot design, demonstrating Cyprus’ ability to be represented with distinction at the highest level of the global design industry.

The award-winning FREEZE CONCRETE SCULPTURE, together with other works by Christodoulos Karpasitis, is exhibited exclusively at Galleria Venti Studio.
